Labour Force Survey 2016
This release contains data received through the Labour Force Survey conducted in the 2016 and the observation period was from January to December 2016. The surveying was done in 8 336 households on the territory of Montenegro. The survey collected data about demographic characteristics for members of the households (24 998 persons were surveyed), and data about economic activity for persons aged 15 and more (21 073 persons).
According to data for four quarter in the 2016 labor force in Montenegro consist of 272.5 thousand of active population. From that number there were: 224.2 thousand persons in employment and 48.3 thousand unemployed persons. The number of persons in employment in comparison with the previous year has increased 1.2% and the number of unemployed persons has increased 2.3%. The activity rate for the 2016 is 54.5%, the employment rate is 44.8% and unemployment rate is 17.7%. Measures of the activity of the population for 15-64 age groups are: the activity rate is 63.4%, the employment rate is 52.0% and the unemployment rate is 18.0%.
