This release contains data received through the Labour Force Survey conducted in the second quarter 2016 and the observation period was from April to June 2016. The surveying was done in 2 086 households on the territory of Montenegro. The survey collected data about demographic characteristics for members of the households (6 199 persons were surveyed), and data about economic activity for persons aged 15 and more (5 282 persons, which makes 1.2% of the total number of interviewed persons aged 15 and more).

According to data for second quarter in the 2016 labor force in Montenegro consist of 272.3 thousands of active population. From that number there were: 224.7 thousand employees and 47.6 thousands unemployed. The number of employees in comparison with the previous quarter has increased 3.4 % and the number of unemployed has decreased 7.0 %. The activity rate for the second quarter 2016 is 54.5%, the employment rate is 44.9 % and unemployment rate is 17.5%. Measures of the activity of the population for 15-64 age groups are: the activity rate is 63.6 %, the employment rate is 52.3% and the unemployment rate is 17.7%.
