Monthly inflation in March was +0.3%, while the annual inflation down to +3.0%
Monthly inflation measured by Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices was +0.3% in March. This was influenced mostly by the increase in prices of clothing; footwear; meat; furniture and furnishings; fruit; milc, cheese and eggs; accommodation services. Annual inflation in March was +3.0%, and it is lower than in February, when it was +3.1%.
When observing the main groups, monthly growth of prices was noticed in the following groups: Clothing and footwear (+4.0%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (+0.7%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (+0.3%); Restaurants and Hotels (+0.2%), while a drop of prices was recorded in groups: Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (-0.3%); Transport (-0.2%); Recreation and culture (-0.1%). Prices in the groups: Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels; Health; Communications; Education; Miscellaneous goods and services remain at the same level as in the previous month.
Positive annual inflation rates in March were observed in the following groups: Clothing and footwear (+11.2%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+5.3%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (+5.1%); Restaurants and Hotels (+3.9%); Communications (+2.7%); Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (+2.2%); Health (+1.4%), while negative annual inflation rates were observed in groups: Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-2.4%); Miscellaneous goods and services (-1.4%); Recreation and culture (-0.8%).
