Consumer price index (CPI) February 2013


Monthly inflation measured by Consumer price index was +0.1% in February, while annual inflation down to +3.3%. This was influenced mostly by the increase in prices of vegetables; fuels and lubricants; other food products; mineral waters and non-alcoholic drinks.

When observing the main groups monthly growth of prices was noticed in the following groups: Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (+0.6%); Transport (+0.6%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (+0.4%); Health (+0.3%); Miscellaneous goods and services (+0.3%); while a drop of prices is recorded in groups: Clothing and footwear (-1.2%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (-0.4%). Prices in the groups: Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance; Communications; Recreation and culture; Education; Restaurants and hotels remain at the same level as in the previous month.

Positive annual inflation rates in February were observed in the following groups: Food and non-alcoholic beverages (+5.6%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+4.3%); Recreation and culture (+3.5%); Clothing and footwear (+3.4%); Communications (+3.4%); Hotels and restaurants (+1.8%); Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (+1.6%); Health (+1.6%); Transport (+1.2%), while negative annual inflation rates were observed in the following groups: Miscellaneous goods and services (-4.0%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-2.9%).
