Primary schools and schools for children with special educational needs Beginning of school year 2011/2012


The data provided in this survey refer to number of departments, pupils, and teachers (by gender, class, and municipality), in primary schools at the beginning of school year 2011/2012 in Montenegro.

Regular primary schools in Montenegro, in school year 2011/2012 were attended by 69 461, showing a decrease of 2% compared with previous 2010/2011. Of those, 48% are girls. The number of departments in primary schools in Montenegro is 3 293, thus there are 21 pupils per department in average.

In regards with the fact that 5 048 teachers work in Montenegro, we reach the conclusion that there are 14 pupils per one teacher. Of the total number of teachers, 74% are women. Number of registered pupils in I class i s b y 0.2% higher than previous school year and it is7369pupils, i.e. 11% from total number of pupils of primary schools,48% of that number are female pupils and 52% are male pupils.

In primary schools for education of children with special educational needs in Montenegro, in school year 2011/12 number of pupils was 202, which represents decrease by 11% comparing to previous school year 2010/11. From that number female pupils are 37%.
