The total external trade of Montenegro for period January-December 2011 is EUR 2 277.6 million, indicating the growth of 14.6% in comparison with the same period of the previous year.
The value of exports of goods is EUR 454.4 million, what is 37.5% higher compared to the same period of previous year, and imports are EUR 1 823.2 million, what is 10% higher compared to the same period of previous year.
The coverage of import by export is 24.9%, and it is higher compared to the coverage for the same period of previous year, when it was 19.9%.
Structure of exports in accordance with the SITC (Standard International Trade Classification) the most present products are Manufactured goods classified chiefly by material– Section 6, in amount of EUR 219.4 million (consisted of: Non-ferrous metals with the amount of EUR 182.4 million, and Iron and steel with EUR 27.4 million).
The structure of imports in accordance with the classification SITC (Standard International Trade Classification) is presented mostly products of Section 0 – Food and live animals with EUR 351.8 million (consisted of: Meat and meat preparations with EUR 74 million, and Cereals and cereal preparations with EUR 57.1 million).
Main trading partners in exports with individual basis were: Serbia (EUR 79.8 million) Hungary (EUR 76.9 million) and Croatia (EUR 45.9 million).
Main trading partners in imports with individual basis were: Serbia (EUR 518.5 million), Greece (EUR 144.1 million), and Bosnia and Herzegovina (EUR 138.7 million). The highest external trade trend was with CEFTA and EU countries.
