External trade in goods of Montenegro January - July 2021

The total external trade in goods of Montenegro for January - July 2021 according to preliminary results is 1 590.7 million EUR, indicating the growth of 12.0% in comparison with the same period of the previous year.

The value of exports of goods was 235.2 million EUR, and import was 1 355.5 million EUR. Compared to the same period last year, exports increased by 17.6%, while imports increased by 11.1%.

The coverage of import by export was 17.3% and it was higher compared to the coverage for the same period of the previous year when it was 16.4%.

In the structure of exports, in accordance with the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC), the most present products were Mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials (Section 3), in amount of 52.2 million EUR (consisted of Electric current - 46.9 million EUR, Coal, coke and briguettes - 3.0 million EUR and other).

In the structure of imports, in accordance with the SITC, the most present products were Machinery and transport equipment (Section 7) with 298.0 million EUR (consisted of: Road vehicles - 85.4 million EUR, Electric machines, appliances - 59.8 million EUR and other).

Main trading partners in exports on an individual basis were: Serbia (63.1 million EUR), Switzerland (18.7 million EUR) and Bosnia and Hercegovina (18.2 million EUR).

Main trading partners in imports on an individual basis were: Serbia (268.0 million EUR), China (140.9 million EUR) and Germany (130.1 million EUR). The highest external trade was with CEFTA parties and the EU member states.
