07.12.2011Accession of Montenegro to the General Data Dissemination System in the International Monetary Fund
Montenegro began participating in the International Monetary Fund’s General Data Dissemination System on December 5, 2011 marking a major step forward in the development of statistical system. Comprehensive information on the statistical production and dissemination practices of Montenegro now appears on the IMF’s Dissemination Standards Bulletin Board (http://dsbb.imf.org/Applications/web/gdds/gddscountrylist/).
The General Data Dissemination System is a structured process through which IMF member countries commit voluntarily to improving the quality of the data produced and disseminated by their statistical systems over the long run to meet the needs of high-quality macroeconomic analysis.
The GDDS was established by the IMF in 1997. It provides a framework to help countries to develop their statistical systems to produce comprehensive and accurate statistics which are needed for policy decision and analysis.
Montenegro is 102nd participant in IMF data dissemination system.
