Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) October 2016

Monthly inflation in October 2016 mesaured by HICP was -0.4%

Consumer prices in Montenegro, measured by HICP, in October 2016 decreased by 0,4% at the average as compared to September 2016. This was influenced mostly by decrease in prices of accommodation services and fruit. Consumer prices in October 2016 increased by 0,4% as compared to October 2015.

Observing the main groups, monthly growth of prices was noticed in the following groups: Clothing and footwear (2.1%); Transport (1.4%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (0.5%); Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (0.1%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (0.1%); Health (0.1%), while a monthly drop of prices was recorded in the following groups: Restaurants and hotels (-3.8%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.1%).

Prices of other products and services mostly remained unchanged.

Positive annual inflation rates in October 2016 were observed in the following groups: Clothing and footwear (3.1%); Restaurants and Hotels (2.8%); Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (2.5%); Health (2.5%); Communications (0.4%); Recreation and culture (0.1%), while negative annual inflation rates were observed in the following groups: Transport (-3.1%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-1.2%); Miscellaneous goods and services (-0.3%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.2%).
