Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP)1 January 2016

Consumer prices in Montenegro, measured by HICP, in January 2016 decreased by 0,7% at the average as compared to December 2015. Consumer prices in January 2016  increased by 1,0%, as compared to January 2015. This was influenced mostly by decrease in prices of: fuels and lubricants; garments; accommodation services; shoes and other footwear; electricity; vegetables; meat; fruit; fruit; etc.  
 
Observing the main groups, monthly drop of prices was noticed in the following groups: Clothing and footwear (-5.4%); Transport (-2.2%); Restaurants and hotels (-1.0%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (-0.8%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.3%), while a monthly growth of prices was recorded in groups: Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (0.4%); Miscellaneous goods and services (0.4%); Health (0.2%); Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (0.1%); Recreation and culture (0.1%). 
 
Positive annual inflation rates in January 2016 were observed in the following groups: Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (3.4%); Restaurants and Hotels (2.9%); Clothing and footwear (2.1%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (1.5%); Health (1.4%); Recreation and culture (1.0%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.8%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (0.5%); Miscellaneous goods and services (0.5%); Communications (0.1%), while negative annual inflation rate was observed in group Transport  (-2.6%).
