Monthly inflation in July 2014 remained stable

Consumer prices in Montenegro in July 2014 compared with previous month remained at the same level. Consumer prices in July 2014 compared with the same month of previous year were lower for -0.9%. Growth rate of consumer prices in period January-July 2014 compared with the same period of previous year was -0.4%.

When observing the main groups, monthly growth of prices was noticed in the following groups: Restaurants and Hotels (+3.3%); Miscellaneous goods and services (+0.4%); Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (+0.2%), while a drop of prices was recorded in groups: Food and non-alcoholic beverages (-1.4%); Clothing and footwear (-1.0%);

European Union annual inflation was 0.6% in July 2014, down from 0.7% in June, while Euro area annual inflation was 0.4%, down from 0.5% in June. In Montenegro, in July 2014, consumer prices measured by the HICP, compared with the same month last year were lower for -0.9%.

Positive annual inflation rates in July were observed in the following groups: Clothing and footwear (+2.9%); Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (+2.3%); Health (+1.5%); Restaurants and Hotels (+1.1%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+0.6%), while negative annual inflation rates were observed in the following groups: Communications (-3.9%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (-3.3%); Recreation and culture (-3.3%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-1.7%); Transport (-0.4%); Miscellaneous goods and services (-0.2%).
