WORLD STATISTICS DAY 2025 – Driving Change with Quality Data for All
Statistical Office of Montenegro – MONSTAT joined the global community in celebrating World Statistics Day 2025, under the slogan “Driving change with quality statistics and data for everyone”, highlighting the importance of reliable, accessible, and high-quality data in evidence-based decision-making, enhancing transparency, and supporting the sustainable development of Montenegro.
On this occasion, MONSTAT organized several activities connecting official statistics with young people, educational institutions, and the academic community.
A key part of the celebration was the meeting between students of the Faculty of Economics in Podgorica and the Director of MONSTAT, Mr. Miroslav Pejovic, together with the Head of the Center for Statistical Analysis, Dr. Bojan Pejovic. The discussion focused on the importance of accurate and timely data for analyzing economic trends, shaping public policies. Director Pejovic pointed out the importance of encouraging the youth to be interested for statistics as future holders of development of this profession.
As part of the celebration, MONSTAT also hosted students from the Secondary Vocational School ‘Vukadin Vukadinovic’, who took part in interactive activities and statistical quiz that helped them learn more about the work of the Statistical Office, data collection and processing in domain of statistics of agriculture and environment, and the importance of statistics in everyday life.
