Consumer prices index CPI

Prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by consumer price index, in August 2025, as compared to July 2025, increased by 0.5% on average. Consumer prices in August 2025, as compared to August 2024, increased by 4.6% on average. This was influenced mostly by increase in prices of: vegetables; accommodation services; meat; solid fuels; fruit; actual rentals paid by tenants and other actual rentals; milk, cheese and eggs; oils and fats. Consumer prices in period January-August 2025 compared to the same period of previous year, were higher for 3.6% in average.
Observing the main groups by purpose of consumption, in August 2025 as compared to July 2025, monthly increase of prices was noticed in the following groups: Restaurants and hotels (2.4%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.3%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (1.1%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (0.9%); Health (0.4%); Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (0.3%); Recreation and culture (0.3%), while decrease of prices was recorded in the following groups: Clothing and footwear (-3.4%); Transport (-0.3%); Miscellaneous goods and services (-0.2%); Communication (-0.1%).
Prices of other products and services mostly remained unchanged.
