Utilized agricultural land in 2024 is 248 234.2 ha which is an increase of 5.8% compared to 2023. In the total utilized agricultural land areas, perennial meadows and pastures areas prevail with the share of 92.3%, while arable land is present with 3.5%, permanent crops 3.8%, and kitchen gardens 0.4%. In comparison with 2023, there is an increase in arable land by 20.1%, and in area of permanent crops, while the area of perennial meadows and pastures records a decrease of 8.0%. A decrease is also recorded in kitchen gardens.
Total production of maize for grain in 2024 was 3 585.6 t, which is a rise of 13.2% compared to 2023. An Increase in production is also recorded in other grains and fodder crops.
Compared to 2023, the total production of most fruit species increased, while peach production decreased.
The total production of grapes in 2024 records a growth of 3.6% compared to the previous year.
