According to the preliminary data, the numerical state of livestock on 1 December 2024, compared to 1 December 2023, records a decrease in the total number of cattle, sheep and goats. The total number of cattle is 67 496 , which is 1.9% less than last year. The trend of decrease in the total number of dairy cows is still continuing, by 6.7%. Compared to the last year, there is a decrease in the total number of sheep in sheep farming by 6.6%. Compared to the last year, the number of goats is lower by 7.3%.
The total number of pigs records a increase of 20.8%, compared to the last year, and is 29 270. The total number of poultry in 2024 is higher by 24.9%. The largest share is held by laying hens, with the total number 1 016 057, and compared to the last year, it records an increase of 26.7%.
