This release contains the data received through the Labour Force Survey conducted in the 2024. The interviewing was done in 7 327 households on the territory of Montenegro. There were collected data about demographic characteristics for all members of the households (18 725 persons were surveyed), and, in addition, also data about economic activity for persons aged 15 to 89 (16 457 persons).
According to the data for four quarters of 2024, there were 319.1 thousand of active populations in Montenegro, out of which there were 282.6 thousand of employed persons or 88.6%, and 36.5 thousand of unemployed1 or 11.4%. The number of persons in employment in comparison with the previous year has increased 1.5% and the number of unemployed in comparison with the previous year has decreased 12.7%.
There were 180.5 thousand of persons outside the labour force (15 to 89 years old). The number of persons outside the labour force in comparison with the previous year has increased 0.8%.
For the persons aged 15 to 89 in the 2024, activity rate is 63.9%, employment rate is 56.6%, unemployment rate is 11.5% and population outside the labour force rate is 36.1%.
