Prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by consumer price index, in September 2024, as compared to August 2024, decreased by 0.4% on average. Consumer prices in September 2024, as compared to September 2023, increased by 1.0% on average. This was influenced mostly by decrease in prices of: milk, cheese and eggs; fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment; fruit; accommodation services. Consumer prices in period January-September 2024 compared to the same period of previous year, were higher for 3.9% in average.
Observing the main groups by purpose of consumption, in September 2024 as compared to August 2024, monthly increase of prices was noticed in the following groups: Clothing and footwear (3.9%); Miscellaneous goods and services (1.0%); Education (0.9%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (0.8%); Communication (0.6%); Recreation and culture (0.3%), while decrease of prices was recorded in the following groups: Transport (-1.8%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (-1.7%); Restaurants and hotels (-1.3%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-0.8%); Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (-0.1%).
Prices of other products and services mostly remained unchanged.
