External trade in goods of Montenegro

The total external trade in goods of Montenegro for january - february 2022 according to preliminary results is 488.5 million EUR, indicating the growth of 56.0% in comparison with the same period of the previous year.

The value of exports of goods was 125.6 million EUR, and import was 362.9 million EUR. Compared to the same period last year, exports increased by 108.6%, while imports increased by 43.5%.

The coverage of import by export was 34.6% and it was higher compared to the coverage for the same period of the previous year when it was 23.8%.

In the structure of exports, in accordance with the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC), the most present products were Mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials (Section 3), in amount of 47.6 million EUR (consisted of Electric current – 45.4 million EUR and other).

In the structure of imports, in accordance with the SITC, the most present products were Manufactured goods classified chiefly by material (Section 6) with 73.8 million EUR (consisted of: Non-ferrous metals – 18.9 million EUR, Non-metallic mineral manufactures – 14.0 million EUR and other).

Main trading partners in exports on an individual basis were: Switzerland (25.5 million EUR), Serbia (23.4 million EUR) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (15.7 million EUR).

Main trading partners in imports on an individual basis were: Serbia (60.5 million EUR), China (40.0 million EUR) and Germany (31.1 million EUR). The highest external trade was with CEFTA parties and the EU member states.
