The total number of students enrolled at Montenegro higher education institutions (HEIs) in winter semester of academic year 2010/2011 stood at 25 169, showing an increase of 6% compared to the winter semester of academic year 2009/10. The share of female students was 54%.
There were 22 163 enrolments of students or 88 % at the basic studies. The highest number of enrolments was at the University of Montenegro, i.e. 80%. The number of postgraduate (specialist and master) enrolments was 2 945, and PhD enrolments was 65.
In 2010 there were 3 083 graduates at Montenegro HEIs, on basic studies, showing a decrease of 5% compared to the previous year. Of those, 83% are graduates at the University of Montenegro. Of the total number, most graduates are from The Faculty of Philosophy showing 18% what is more than from all private HEIs together (17%). In regards with the private HEIs, the highest number of graduates is at the Faculty for Business Management 5%. Of the total number of graduates at basic studies, 61% were women.
In 2010 there was 1 478 postgraduates:  specialist 83%, and Master of Science 17%. The increase of number of specialists compared to 2009 is 12% and of Master of Science 14%.
The PhD qualification in 2010 was obtained by 15 persons; of those 40% are women.
