This release contains data received through the Labour Force Survey conducted in the first quarter 2018 and the observation period was from January to March 2018. The interviewing was done in 2 192 households on the territory of Montenegro. There were collected data about demographic characteristics for members of the households (6 537 persons were surveyed) and data about economic activity for persons aged 15 and more (5 620 persons).
According to the data for the first quarter of 2018, there were 268.3 thousands of active population in Montenegro, out of which there were 225.0 thousands of employed persons or 83.9% and 43.3 thousands of unemployed or 16.1%. The number of persons in employment in comparison with the previous quarter has increased 1.3% and the number of unemployed has decreased 5.0%. There were 231.8 thousands of inactive population and in comparison with the previous quarter this number has decreased 0.3%.
