Satellite accounts in tourism provided first pilot internationally comparable estimation of contribution of tourism to total GDP of Montenegro in the value of 10%, based on methodology of satellite accounts of World Tourism Organization. This pilot project provided  first estimation of consumption of domestic tourists which were not produced until now  as well as other economic indicators  as :size and economic contribution of tourism, touristic consumption  by type of visitors ,detailed data  on touristic activities and products.

Director of Statistical Office  M.S. Gordana Radojevi? pointed out the significance of this project as first of this kind in Montenegro  and she added that she was convinced that Monstat will continue work of this accounts in the future, as well , taking into account the significance of tourism as economic priority  in our country. Ms. Radojevic stated that for six months that project took there was big effort of Office representatives and representatives of other institutions in order project to be finished for such short deadline. Other relevant institutions, apart Monstat took part in making of satellite accounts: Central Bank of Montenegro, Ministry of Tourism and Sustainable Development, National Touristic Organization, Institute for Strategic Studies and Prognosis and Faculty for Tourism. 
This six months projects was financed by EC and the head of the project was professor  PhD Lea Bregar from Faculty of Economy, Ljubljana  who has  experiences in this area and references from other European countries.
