The Release "Analyze of medium and large enterprises in Montenegro" is the results of statistical analyze "Research on the medium and large enterprises," which was conducted in the period from 1 to 15 April 2013. The data collection activity was fully realized by email.

Observation subjects of analyze are business entities which were active during the period up to 15 April 2013. Active business entities are entities that in the observed time interval have performed a certain activity, have employed workers and have generated some turnover.

Also, the release gives an overview of medium and large enterprises surveyed by municipalities and industry sectors as well as enterprises belonging to groups of enterprises located abroad or in Montenegro. The survey included only enterprises that perform certain activities in the economy.

The study involved 263 businesses, which represented a total coverage of subjects observed from two size classes: medium and large enterprises. As a framework for the study, we used the statistical business register from the frozen state in 2012.

Response to the questionnaire came from a 245 business entities. From 9 business entities we have received confirmation that after the submission of annual accounts in March 2013 they have not fulfill all the three criteria, and that they do not belong to the medium but to the small businesses. The response to the survey was 93.1%.

For the first time in the framework of one statistical survey we have collected data on a group of enterprises as a new statistical unit. Due to the international necessity to harmonize business registers for statistical purposes with EU regulation no. 177/08, and also due to the national needs it is important to have information about the group of enterprise as a statistical unit at the international level.

The majority of medium and large enterprises carry out its activity in the municipality of Podgorica.
