This release contains data received through the Labour Force Survey conducted in the first quarter 2013, and the observation period was from January to March 2013. The surveying was done in 2 115 households on the territory of Montenegro. The survey collected data about demographic characteristics for members of the households (6 413 persons were surveyed) and data about economic activity for persons aged 15 and more (5 257 persons).

According to data for first quarter in the 2013 labor force in Montenegro consist of 248.8 thousands of active population. From that number there were: 195.2 thousands persons in employment and 53.6 thousands unemployed. The number of persons in employment in comparison with the previous quarter has decreased 1.1% and  the number of unemployed has increased  4.5% . The activity rate for the first quarter 2013 is 49.7%, the employment rate is 39.0% and unemployment rate is 21.5%. Measures of the activity of the population for 15-64 age group are: the activity rate is 58.6%, the employment rate is 45.9% and the unemployment rate is 21.6%.
