Revision policy

Data revision is an integral part of the process of producing and disseminating official statistics and contributes to improving the quality of produced data as well as the transparency of the work of the Statistical Office. In implementing the revision process, it is very important to adhere to certain rules and standards that exist for national statistical offices at the European and international level.

In line with the principles of official statistics, the guidelines set out in the European Statistical System Handbook on Revision Policy for Principal European Economic Indicators, and the principles of the European Statistics Code of Practice, the Statistical Office of Montenegro – MONSTAT aims, through the Revision Policy Rule, to draw public attention to the importance of the quality of statistical data, which is based on several criteria, among which accuracy and timeliness are particularly emphasized. High-quality, timely data that are aligned with international standards and methodologies and that meet the needs of our users represent the vision we strive to achieve.
