Industry

Industry takes one of the most important places within the total economy. Fast development of industry is one of the main indicators of total economic development, change of social and economic relations, etc.
Industry is an activity in which the production of different products and manufacturing raw material of animal or artificial origin are performed. The main characteristics of industry are the production of large quantities of products, of the equal quality, with the use of machinery as tools for work.

The total production is the total quantity of a product defined by the Nomenclature of industrial products, produced in observation unit within reporting unit regardless if it is sold to third persons in the country or abroad, put in the stocks of final product or it is used for further production.

Final product is any product within the production process having reached certain level of processing, and thus put under separate code and name in the Nomenclature of industrial products. Defective products are not considered as final products.
According to the Activity Classification implemented since 1 January 2001, the area of industry covers three sectors as the following: Sector V-Mining and quarrying, Sector G-Manufacturing, and Sector D-Electricity, gas, and water supply, and the legal basis is European activity classification - NACE-REV.1.
