Enrolled students – basic studies Academic year 2016/2017
In the winter semester 2016/2017 at the higher education institutions in Montenegro, at the basic level, was enrolled 21 422 students, which is 3.5% less than in the winter semester of the previous academic year. The share of female was 54.2% (11 601), and 45.8% (9 821) of male students.
From total number of enrolled students, 16 104 or 75.2% was enrolled in Public Higher Education Institutions, and 5 318 or 24.8% in Private Higher Education Institutions. Number of students compared to the previous academic year at Public Higher Education institutions decreased by 5.3%, while the number of students enrolled in Private Higher Education Institutions increased by 2.4%.
In the first year of study, academic year 2016/2017 were enrolled 6 887 students or 32.1% (here are included and students who repeatedly enrolled the first year). Number of students enrolled in the first year decreased by 3.7% compared to the previous academic year. Of all the students of the first year of study, participation of female is 52.7% (3 630), and 47.3% (3 257) of male students.
