Consumer price index (CPI) March 2017

Monthly inflation in March 2017 was 0.1%
 
Monthly inflation measured by Consumer price index was 0.1% in March 2017, while the annual inflation was 2.7%. This was influenced mostly by increase in prices of: garments; fruit; shoes and other footwear; milk, cheese and eggs; services for the maintenance and repair of the dwelling. Growth rate of consumer prices in period January-March 2017 compared with the same period of previous year was 2.4%.
 
Observing the main groups monthly growth of prices was noticed in the following groups: Clothing and footwear (3.1%); Health (0.3%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.2%); Miscellaneous goods and service (0.2%), while a drop of prices was recorded in the following groups: Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (-1.0%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-0.8%); Transport (-0.7%).
 
Prices of other products and services mostly remained unchanged.
 

Positive annual inflation rates in March 2017 were observed in the following groups: Transport (8.3%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (3.8%); Health (3.4%); Restaurants and hotels (3.3%); Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (3.0%); Clothing and footwear (0.9%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (0.9%); Miscellaneous goods and service (0.7%); Communications (0.2%), while negative annual inflation rates were observed in the following groups: Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-2.2%); Recreation and culture (-0.5%).
