The number of realised overnight stays is 96 262, which is 21.6% more than in December 2015. Overnight stays of foreign tourists represent 81.1% while the domestic tourists represent 18.9% of all overnight stays in December 2016. Of these tourists realized 48 383 overnight stays in collective accommodation which is 10.8% more than in December 2015, while in individual accommodation tourists realized 47 879 overnight stays, which is 34.9% more compared to December last year.

 

In 2016 there was an increase of the number of tourist arrivals of 5.9% and increase in the number of overnight stays of 1.8% compared to the previous year.

 

Concerning the structure of overnight stays of foreign tourists, in December 2016, the most of them were realised by tourists from Russia (24.5%), Serbia (20.5%), Albania (9.1%), Bosnia and Herzegovina (8.6%), Kosovo (6.5%), Ukraine (4.8%), Croatia (3.1%), Macedonia (3.1%). Tourists from other countries realised 19.8% overnight stays.

 

Concerning the structure of overnight stays by type of resort, the most of them were realised in seaside resorts (76.0%), capital (10.7%), other tourist resorts (7.5%) and in mountain resorts (5.8%).
