This release contains data received through the Labour Force Survey conducted in the third quarter 2016, and the observation period was from July to September 2016. The surveying was done in 2 073 households on the territory of Montenegro. The survey collected data about demographic characteristics for members of the households (6 158 persons were surveyed), and data about economic activity for persons aged 15 and more (5 200 persons, which makes 1.2% of the total number of persons aged 15 and more).

According to data for third quarter in the 2015 labor force in Montenegro consist of 279.5 thousands of active population. From that number there were: 232.4 thousand employees and 47.1 thousands unemployed. The number of employees in comparison with the previous quarter has increased 3.4% and the number of unemployed has decreased 1.1%. The activity rate for the third quarter 2016 is 55.9%, the employment rate is 46.5% and unemployment rate is 16.9%. Measures of the activity of the population for 15-64 age group are: the activity rate is 65.1%, the employment rate is 53.9% and the unemployment rate is 17.1%.
